Change to TLHOA Board Officers

Fellow Homeowners,

At the conclusion of last night’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting, I stepped down as the HOA President.  This was a difficult decision, however necessary, as the President role was consuming too much of my time.  I am proud of the hard work that has been accomplished in the last two months.  The Board is now progressing with a number of positive changes that many of you have asked for and/or recommended we consider.  I will remain on the Board of Trustees and continue to serve our HOA with the Security Patrol and other committees.

Pat Pomeroy was elected as the new HOA President.  Pat is a true professional, committed to service, and cares about our HOA.  This will be a smooth transition as Pat has been an instrumental part of the Board’s recent progress.

TLHOA Helps FW Families in Need

Each year Federal Way Cares for Kids (FWCFK) partners with the Federal Way School District to provide holiday cheer for families in need. This year with your help, we (TLHOA) would like to support this program.  The Twin Lakes Homeowners Association (TLHOA) office will be a drop-off site for collecting new, unwrapped toys.

Who They Are: FWCFK is a community coalition which coordinates the talents, resources, and skills of local organizations and individuals to maximize support received by kids and families served by Federal Way Schools.

What They Do: They partner with families in the Federal Way School District to help support them around the holidays, beginning of school year, and as other opportunities arise.

Holiday Event: Each year FWCFK partners with the Federal Way School District to provide holiday cheer for families in need. They hold an amazing event where families get to come shop in the FWCFK “store” for gifts for their children, along with free wrapping, Santa pictures, and a gift of a ham for their holiday meal.  While their guardians shop, the children get to make gifts for them and enjoy some holiday cheer. With their community partnerships and over 200 volunteers, we were able to serve over 700 children in need last holiday season.

Ways You Can Help:

  • Donate Gifts – Drop off new, unwrapped gifts to any South King County Fire & Rescue Station or the Federal Way Police Department main lobby or the Twin Lakes HOA Office. Gifts must be received by Monday, December 11th.
  • Money – Monetary donations are accepted on the website to be used to purchase gifts for children.
  • Volunteer – They need volunteers to work several different areas of the event from Personal Shoppers, to gift wrappers, Santa’s pictures. etc. Let’s show the folks of Federal Way that the people living in Twin Lakes are a caring community by donating your time, gifts or money to help those who may not have a bright as Christmas if it were not for your help.

For all donations and volunteer opportunities, information about date and times of volunteer opportunities, and to register to help please go to the website, and let them know you’re a Twin Lakes HOA member who cares!
