The Board would like to update you on the progress of the Treasure Island playground safety improvement project.
Over the last several months, the Parks Committee has reviewed submitted designs and solicited bids from three reputable playground contractors. In fact, the committee asked for the designs to be resubmitted several times to best meet the needs of our community. At the April 17th meeting the Board voted to approve a contract with Northwest Playground Equipment, Inc.
Northwest Playground’s submittal makes the playground compliant with nationally recognized safety standards, replaces worn out equipment, and also adds some fun new items! Equally important, Northwest Playground was able to accomplish all of this at the most reasonable price. Starting in the next several weeks, Northwest Playground will remove deficient equipment and haul away sand. Next, some new playground equipment will be installed and wood chip safety surfacing will be put in place.
At present, Northwest playground estimates all work on the playground will be completed by the second or third week in June. The construction fence that now surrounds the playground will remain in place until the renovation is done, due to the previously identified playground safety deficiencies and worksite dangers.
As always, please feel free to contact the office at (253) 838-0464 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. The Board appreciates your continued patience during this process.
