Having your pet spayed or neutered is critical to eliminating pet overpopulation and needless euthanasia. If you or someone you know needs help with the cost of altering a pet, there are several options available.
The Northwest Spay & Neuter Center is a high quality, high-volume, affordable spay/neuter clinic, available to pet owners of all income levels. They even offer a transport service. Check their website for current pick-up locations.
If you need help spaying or neutering a cat, and are a low-income resident of Pierce County or the city of Federal Way, you can also apply to the Humane Society’s low-cost spay/neuter fund. Print and return this application, and a volunteer will contact you to discuss the best option for your situation. You can also call (253) 383-2733, ext 5838, to request an application or receive assistance.
If you find a stray cat or dog, contact the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County (covering Federal Way, as well). More information can be found on their website, or by calling them at (253) 835-7387.
